Term 1 Reflections on termly performance and growth development in Science

Reflections on termly performance and growth development in Science

I feel that in this term, I have learnt about reflection of light, refraction of light. I was especially interested in physics, and was mesmerised by the science concepts and the experiments. This was when I developed an interest for physics and I made up my mind to take up physics in Secondary 3. Very soon, our test came. I was astonished as I had did quite badly for this term's test. I was sad at the point of time as I had scored a C6 for this test, the worst I have gotten. This result could be because I could not focus during class and got distracted by other things. Thus, I did not pay attention to the teacher. However, I also felt that I had panicked during this test, causing me to do badly.

My actual target for this term's test was at least an A2. I had studied really hard for this test and revised through practically everything I could do. My bad results also could be due to my busy schedule on that week as I had many other tests and I probably could not cope well. I also had to attend my CCA training sessions as the competitions were near, therefore, additional training sessions were required, taking away time for my revision. I felt that I could have done better and I promised myself I would brush up my concepts during the March holidays and strengthen my concepts to prepare myself in future. Although we are moving on to Chemistry in Term 2, I had to revise my Physics concepts as they were tested for the EOY exams.

At first, I did not understand some topics for example, ray diagrams. I did not understand this topic at first but then, I referred to the IVLE lessons and hardcopy notes that were issued and I soon understood the topic. Most of the time, I would also consult my parents and siblings for help on some questions. I would be able to understand better on the solution to the question as they explain it in such a way that I would know. I hope to do better in Science next term!
